WELCOME

Craig’s reputation precedes him. Although he is now a prolific film composer his background has been totally different. He previously made his name as a highly sought after guitar player with such hugely influential British bands as The Smiths (he is known as ‘the 5th Smith’), Morrissey (Solo), Aztec Camera, Alison Moyet and Terry Hall among many others.

After many years as a guitarist Craig made the decision to concentrate fully on his composing career and gradually moved away from playing guitar with others, something he had been working towards over the years.

From an early age he taught himself everything he could about composition, harmony and orchestration although he later studied through private tuition and a period at music college.

In recent years Craig has firmly established himself as an exciting, highly melodic and modern composer for film and television and has written music for every conceivable situation and medium including film, drama, documentaries, commercials, corporate and everything in-between A highly experienced and hard working composer Craig is extremely versatile and is equally at home writing orchestral scores as well as contemporary, electronic, and edgy scores. He is also an accomplished songwriter and has also scored the brass and strings for some of the artists he’s played with.

Recent commissions include the score to a full length feature documentary called R/Evolution which includes an appearance from the Oscar winning actor Forest Whitaker. The film was shot around the world for most of 2011 and gave him the opportunity to write an inspired and sensitive score. Other recent commissions have included the official 2012 Olympic Games trailer for Sega Games, commercials for Ford cars and Lighterlife, spin-off series for ‘A Question Of Sport’ and ‘EastEnders’ and various commissions for library music.

His music (including his library music) is constantly used all over the world in productions such as The Oprah Winfrey Show, Saturday Night Live, The Apprentice, Sky Movies Commercials and many others.

Craig currently lives in Manchester and works from his studios there.
